Fletcher (Owner Zak Fletcher)
Performance (vehicle not only looks right, it’ll perform correctly)
Paint (Refinishing corrected damages with top quality products)
Fletcher Performance and Paint is an auto body collision repair shop. Many people may read that and say “Okay, so they fix cars.” Really, we do much more than that. Our goal here at Fletcher’s is to get our customers vehicles repaired, while making it appear as though an accident never happened. To do that, we utilize the repair procedures, and the position statements provided by a vehicles manufacturer to ensure the vehicle is restored to the highest safety measures possible for our customers. Most vehicles are simply towed to an “insurance recommended repair facility”, the vehicle is “repaired” and since it looks fine on the outside, you will pick it up and head down the road in what could be an unsafe vehicle. How we plan to help with that here at Fletcher’s, is to continue to keep up with new technological advancements, safety protocols, repair procedures, and to play a key role in educating the customer of the dynamics involved with making the best-informed decision for you and your family. The thing is the general public has not been asking their repair facilities the questions that lead to the answers you need to make sure your vehicle is safe. Our main mission is to ask those questions for you, and to make the conscious decision to put the customer first and not the insurance company. Our end goal is to make sure the customer gets what they deserve, the very best!
My interest in working on vehicles was started in my dad’s shop at his house, with all the constant projects; from replacing mechanical components, to paint jobs on his friends’ cars. Where I was removing door handles and taillights, to help move the projects along. Fast forward several years to my very own shop… in an enclosed lean-to portion of a hay barn on our family farm. Using handed down tools from friends or economy tools gifted from my wonderful Grandfather. That barn is where I would work, learn and sometimes cut my teeth on completing paint jobs while continuing to study auto collision repair for 2 years at Nichols Career Center followed by 2 years at NASCAR Technical Institute in Mooresville, North Carolina. After completing those programs, is really when the FPP journey started. I began to rent out a shop… (yes, still in a barn; but larger) complete with one hydrant outside for running water, no insulation, with half gravel and half concrete floors. I had been working there for a couple of years, and during that time a couple limousines had been dropped off that I just simply couldn’t handle on my own by the deadline. Insert Mr. Corey Wekenborg, a friend of mine from high school. I had called him for help on a few projects, with our intentions of completing a couple things and going our own ways. The little shop had different plans as it continued to organically grow, and the work never stopped coming. Which may have been the blessing in disguise we were looking for, but now we had to make the decision on taking the easy road of going back to our normal jobs or rolling the dice on building what would become Fletcher Performance and Paint. In October of 2012, we moved into our current location of 202 State Road AE, New Bloomfield, MO. Our workforce was myself, Corey and some good ole buddies that were always willing to help. Although this move to New Bloomfield granted us the abilities to grow with an actual professional shop footprint, we were less than prepared for all the crash course lessons in business and finance that we would face. To help with that, in the last 10 years we have continued to add tooling, training, shop improvements, social media platforms, more team members and countless connections all from the sweat of our brows. Without our downs, we could never enjoy our ups. Without our failures we could never enjoy our successes. We’ve had many things to be thankful for along the way. The constant support of our close friends and family, our amazing customers that continue to advocate for us and return anytime they need our services, and of course, the simple opportunity to do what we love in this amazing town. We are looking forward to seeing how far this “little shop” is going to take us, as we have now bought land in Holts Summit and plan on building a shop located there. We can’t wait to take on this new journey with a community of support, love and involvement. Keep up with all our changes, the Monster Truck turnups and all the new things we are working on, on our Facebook page Fletcher Performance and Paint.
